Headlines about food politics – and the importance of making fresh, local food accessible to all – have driven the growth of farmer’s markets around the country.
The corner of Church and Dodge is home this summer to a new, weekly market, every Saturday from 7am to 2pm. The West End Market offers fresh produce along with crafts, and other non-food items by local vendors, as well as live music and nutrition education.

This coming Saturday the West End Market celebrates its first season with music and more!
The burgeoning market is the result of efforts by community members and volunteers, and responds to a longtime wish of 5th Ward Alderwoman Delores Holmes.
The West End Market aims to sell fresh food at affordable prices at a time when food prices, along with conerns about access to safe and healthy food, are on the rise.
Volunteers and vendors are still needed to help the West End Market succeed!
